SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - City of Savannah leaders will kick off the overhaul to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Thursday, January 6 at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Exhange Street and MLK Jr. Blvd.
Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. will undergo a $2.8 million overhaul. Construction over the course of the year will replace the roadway, install new brick sidewalks and lighting, create new crosswalks and improve several intersections along the corridor.
The project is being funded by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
