HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - Flames ripped through woods dangerously close to a Hinesville subdivision.
The Hinesville Fire Department evacuated homes in Crystal Lake as a precaution. It took fire crews less than an hour to contain the brush fire.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. Nearly five acres of land were scorched in the blaze.
Hinesville Fire Chief, Lamar cook said, "We did have some houses in danger, we did evacuate those homes, no damage a little bit of scorch...wooden fences..."
No word yet on what caused the fire.
