Riding to help save a life

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Motorcyclists gathered Sunday at Greater Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church to raise money for 36 year old Letechia Johnson.

Johnson is in need of both a kidney and a pancreas transplant.

The bikers hope the ride will help Johnson reach the $10,000 mark needed to be added to the donor list.

"It does us great because we're able to see the community come together, the church come together. So it makes me feel good just to see people coming together for a common cause. Many of the bikers don't know Letechia, but they understand her cause and for that reason I'm grateful," said Rev. Bernard Clark.

If you'd like to help Letechia, The Georgia Transplant Foundation has set up an account at Carver State Bank in her honor.
