You may have trouble making a left turn from Abercorn to White Bluff for the next few days. The city is installing sensors underneath the road and cameras along the median to catch cars running red lights. Once the light turns red, if you cross the white line, the sensor will be triggered and a camera will take a picture of your license plate.
"We hope this sends a message that running red lights is dangerous and to please change your behavior and stop," the city's Sean Brandon said.
here's the catch - it doesn't matter who's driving - the owner will get the ticket and the fine. Once the system's up and running - for the first 30 days the ticket is just a warning after that you'll have to pay the 70 dollar fine.
