VIP tickets available for Extreme Home Makeover

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire and the Simpson family, the family that received a new home from Extreme Home Makeover, will host a VIP showing of the eipisode on Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Trustees Theatre on Broughton Street.

The VIP showing is open to the public and tickets are $65.00 per adult. Tickets include wine, hor de'ourves, transportation to the show and preferred seating. VIP tickets for children 12 and under are $10.00.

All net proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Share a Night fund. It costs $65.00 to house one family for one night and the money will help support the families who stay at the Savannah Ronald McDonald House.

The Simpson family lived at the Savannah Ronald McDonald House in 2008 when their son Zoë was born prematurely. The Ronald McDonald House enabled the Simpson family to stay in Savannah while their son was being treated at Memorial University Medical Center. In 2010, the Simpon family moved to Savannah to be closer to Memorial so that Zoë could receive therapy and medical treatment regularly. The Simpson family also launched the City Church and gave back to the Savannah Ronald McDonald House by helping prepare meals for the families staying at the House and raise money for the charity.

When they family relocated to Savannah, they realized their home needed an overwhelming amount of renovation so they applied to Extreme Home Makeover. On their application they named the Ronald McDonald House as their charity of choice.

"It has been an honor to be a part of the Simpson Family's journey," said Savannah Ronald McDonald House Executive Director Nikole Layton in a news release. "We were thrilled to have been a part of the entire Extreme Makeover week and to have participated in the volunteer efforts to make the Simpson's new home a reality. We are very grateful to the Simpson family and their willingness to raise money and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities during the celebration of the premiere, and we are thankful for the continued support from the community to make these special events happen."
