SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A fire in Savannah forced two people out into the cold on Wednesday.
Flames broke out at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at 116 W. Gaston St. When Savannah firefighters arrived, they found flames inside the three-story building. They were able to knock them down fairly quickly.
Both residents were able to escape unharmed. They'll have to find somewhere else to stay for now.
"They are going to be displaced simply because the power has been turned off to the building. Once they get it cleaned up and checked out, I am sure they will be able to be in the house pretty soon," said Mark Keller of Savannah Fire and Emergency Services.
Officials believe the fire was accidental and started in a closet but and an investigator is looking into the possible cause.
