GARDEN CITY, GA (WTOC) - Garden City residents now have an addtional payment option for paying their utlity bill. As of Jan. 1, 2011, residents have the option to use their debit or credit card in addition to the traditional methods to pay their utility bill. Previously, residents could only pay by check, money order or cash by mail or using a drop box.
Garden City combines water, sewer, trash and wastewater fees into one monthly bill.
"This new payment option allows us to better serve our citizens," said Clara Rouse, Finance Director at Garden City. "Paying utility bills by credit or debit card is a convenient alternative for many local businesses and residents."
Those who are interested in paying their utility bill by credit or debit card must stop by Garden City's City Hall on Dean Forest Road. Residents will be assigned a PIN which will allow credit and debit card payments by phone. The PIN is to protect residents from fraudulent credit and debit card use.
