SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The 10th Transportation Company at Hunter Army Airfield was been deactivated. Many of the soldiers are headed for Germany or Korea. Some will stay in the United States and a few will stay in Savannah.
Soldiers of the 10th Transportation Company say their deployment to Haiti last January really stands out.
"I think the number one obviously was our deployment to Haiti. We went to help the people of that community and I think that deployment to Hait sticks out in my mind recently," said Cpt. Stephen Lambe.
"That mission was a feel good mission because the soldiers got to aid and help the citizens of that country," said First Sgt. Andrew Durant.
The 10th Transportation Company was activated in October 2006. They spent a year in Kuwait in 2008 and then two months in Haiti after the earthquake.
