BULLOCH CO, GA (WTOC) - The ice and snow has come and gone, but some Bulloch County parents are still upset schools did not close the past week due to the weather.
On Thursday night, some of them went to the Board of Education meeting. Three parents spoke and asked why school leaders did not cancel classes. They told board members the roadways, parking lots and sidewalks were too icy to be safe.
"I sent my kids to school Monday because it was so early I didn't realize how bad it was. Once I did, I was scared to death for them," said parent Tiffany Busby.
Superintendent Dr. Lewis Holloway told WTOC early Thursday the school system had monitored road conditions and forecasts before they made their decision.
Several area school systems canceled classes Monday and Tuesday.
