BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - One man is raising awareness for wounded veterans by riding horseback.
Brad Clayton lost his arm in an accident 10 year ago and since then he has worked with wounded men and women returning from war. Clayton feels its important to show them how they can do everything they used to do no matter their injury.
Clayton decided to ride his daughter's horse, Gypsie, through South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee to raise awareness. The initiative is called Riding for Wounded Warriors.
"There are a lot of them, probably more now than ever before, due to the ability to save lives in the field. So hopefully when they come home they'll have a little more help continue on as normal as possible life after a severe injury," said Clayton.
Clayton expects the trip to take three months. He will first ride up to Wilmington, North Carolina then to Fort Bragg, Raleigh, Charlotte and eventually into Tennessee.
