BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - Glynn County School Superintendent Howard Mann will appear before a county ground jury next month to answer questions about the school system.
The grand jury requested a Feb. 9 meeting with school officials to discuss the structural integrity of the Golden Isles Career Academy, board member salary and expenses and faculty and staff morale.
Under state law, grand juries can inspect county offices and make recommendations. Public officials are not obliged to carry out any recommendations from the grand jury.
Mann told The Florida Times-Union that he's happy to appear before the grand jury and will bring the school system's finance director to provide details on spending.
