SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering citizenship classes starting next month.
The classes prepare immigrants for the U.S. citizenship test and interview. The seminar will be presented by Joe Kernan, who is a U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Community Relations Officer.
The Saturday classes are from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting Feb. 12 until March 26 at the Southwest Chatham Branch of the Live Oak Public Library.
The classes are free, but participants are urged to by the books and CD. They cost $49.00 if bought before Feb. 7. After that date the price goes to $59.

A representative from Lutheran Services of Georgia, which works with refugees, will also be at the meeting to provide an overview of coming available refugee assistance services in Savannah.
