CEMA holding emergency kit contest

CHATHAM COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - During Severe Weather Awareness Week, Feb. 7 through Feb. 11, the Chatham Emergency Management Agency is giving away free water filters to those who put personal supply kits together. The 25 residents with the best kit win a filter.

Supply kits should be filled with essentials that you would need during an emergency. CEMA suggest thinking of items you would need if you lost power for a couple of hours or even days. And if left without power long enough, you would need food and water.

Rules are as follows:

  • Residents must submit a photo of their supply kit.  To make sure it's your kit, in the photo, include a note that says "My Supply Kit."
  • Please don't use a photo that is not your own.
  • Also, include a brief list of what you put in your kit.

Please send all photos to klfoster@chathamcounty.org.  Winners will be posted on the CEMA website and Facebook page.

The deadline for entries is Feb. 10.
