Stunt offers preview for Ringling Bros. show

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus is in Savannah this weekend.

To show that it's still the Greatest Show on Earth thrillusionist David DaVinci took to the skies for a never-seen-before high-flying feat. He hung upside down from a hot air balloon - three stories above Forsyth Park - wearing a strait jacket. After about a minute, he escaped.

"I've always been afraid of heights so this for me is a big accomplishment to be up there suspended dangling upside down and pretty high off the ground and every show every night at the greatest show on earth," DaVinci said. "I do a similar escape over seven lions. So that has prepared me for what we're doing here, and I'm just glad I'm back on the ground."

The circus starts Thursday night and runs through Sunday. For ticket information contact the Savannah Civic Center box office.
