SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – A new art installation looks at the seat of Savannah's city government.
Savannah College of Art and Design students in the School of Building Arts program created art works as part of a 10-week project under Professor LaRaine Papa Montgomery that analyzing good design and planning in the city.
Students used City Hall as a subject. They explored the formal characteristics of the century-old building, as well as its relationship to the surrounding squares, ward, city, and to its citizens and visitors, according to a news release.
The art exhibit is on display in City Hall's first floor Rotunda. They will be displayed for the next six months as part of the City's Art in City Hall program.
Art in City Hall, which launched last summer, is a rotating exhibit that showcases contemporary artwork by professional and emerging artists in Savannah.
