Troops from our 3rd Infantry Division have now earned literary recognition. The recently released book, "Surging South of Baghdad," by author Dale Andrade, covers the 3rd ID and Task Force Marne's heroic efforts in Iraq during the Division's 2007-to-2008 deployment, and their direct role in the military surge that helped move the people of Iraq from gridlock to a much clearer and more positive road to sustainable freedom. This new book was introduced by the author at a recent presentation event at Fort Stewart. The book's title again: "Surging South of Baghdad."
Kudos to the brave men and women of the 3rd, past and present, who continue to do all in their power to ensure America's sovereignty and freedom.
