Savannah Area Republican Women holding luncheon

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Area Republican Women are holding a luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at the Johnny Harris Banquet Center on Victory Drive.

The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. and the special guest speaker will be Dr. Mark A Gabriel.

Dr. Gabriel will share his incredible story about how he came to the United States. Dr. Gabriel was raised in Egypt by an Islamic family and graduated from Al-Azhar University in Cairo and became a professor of Islamic history. When Dr. Gabriel questioned the Quarn and its teachings, he was kidnapped by the Egyptian secret police and thrown in to prison. Just before he was about to be executed, he was released thanks to a relative with political connections. Over the course of the next year, Dr. Gabriel was unemployed and living with his parents when he met a Christian pharmacist who gave him a Bible. After reading the Bible, he decided to become a Christian. When his father discovered was a Christian, he tried to kill him. Dr. Gabriel fled to South Africa and then to the United States where he was granted religous asylum.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 912.596.4023 or by emailing sarwreservations@gmail.com. The cost is $15 per person and can be paid at the door with cash or check.
