Savannah student on her way to Carnegie Hall

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Her music is traveling to high places. Nia Russell, a junior clarinetist at Savannah Christian Preparatory School has been selected to perform at Carnegie Hall with all the highest rated high school performers in the U.S.

Broadway shows and tours through New York are just a taste of what Russell will soon experience. She says she's excited about this once and life time opportunity.

"I get to go and perform with people from all over the country and Carnegie Hall which is a place that people love to just go and listen to music and I actually get to play there," said Russell.

Russell and the Honors Band will perform at Carnegie Hall, Saturday, February 19th.
