Ranger Reunion at Fort Benning

The 75th Ranger Regiment, part of which is stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, is getting together for the first time in more than a year. About 2,000 of the Army's elite fighting force descended on Fort Benning yesterday. This is the first time since the attack on America that the regiment is together, except for those still in the Middle East. The reunion is bittersweet for many as they remember those who died fighting for our country.

"They participated both in Operation Enduring Freedom and in magnificent, spectacular effort in Operation Iraqi Freedom," said Gen. Howard Yellen. "We've been dropping today and everybody is just fired up. We still have Rangers in harm's way, over in southwest Asia, and I know a lot of the guys out there on the drop zone are thinking of them today."

The event lasts a week and ends with a change of command.
