Early-morning wreck leaves man dead

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating a traffic accident that left an 18-year-old man dead Sunday morning.

Trevor Wendell King died instantly when the 2003 Honda Accord he was driving overturned several times on Victory Drive between Bull and Whitaker streets, ejecting him.

Sgt. Anthony Gallo, of the SCMPD Major Accidents Investigation Team, said the Honda was traveling West on Victory Drive at a high rate of speed about 4 a.m. The Honda failed to negotiate a curve as Victory crosses Bull, hit a curb and the southeast corner of Nevaells Soul Food before overturning several times. 

The accident is still under investigation. Police are interested in talking to the driver of a silver or gray car, possibly a Nissan, that was in the vicinity of the wreck.
