STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) – Georgia Southern University was named the fourth most popular university in the country by U.S. News and World Report. The list ranks the Top 20 most popular universities based on the number of students who apply and then opt to enroll, according to GSU.
Georgia Southern was behind Brigham Young University, Harvard University and Stanford University and ranked higher than Princeton and Yale.
GSU was the only Georgia school that made the list.
The report's rankings were taken from the fall 2009 class, where 68.7 percent of students who were accepted by the University decided to attend GSU, according to the school.
