If we can't legislate, we'll regulate.  So says our Executive Branch, intent on further crippling private industry sectors, with an insatiable take-over appetite, that would've made the Kremlin blush. Case in point: cap and trade, a senseless attempt to disable America's industrial growth, further tanking our economy and employment, while our new pals, the Chinese, and others late to the smoke-stack dance, continue to cloud world skies.  Thankfully, Emperor Cap & Trade has "no clothes," and thus stands no chance of passage.  D.C.'s alternative is Operation End-Run, as the Administration goes around Congress to let loose its leading regulatory-carnivore, the Environmental Protection Agency.

Last week, the EPA closed a major, new West Virginia coal mine, by revoking its permit, granted just 4-years prior, after the company had already poured $250-million into its development.  West Virginia is our second largest coal-producing state, accounting for 60-thousand jobs.  Half of America's electricity is produced by coal.  Add to that 35% additional from oil and natural gas, and you have a nation whose electricity needs are 85% dependent on fossil fuels.  Alternative electrical-energy sources may bear future promise, now, totally dependent on heavy tax-payer subsidies, and

nowhere near the point of cost-effectiveness. Promising battery technology is here, most visibly touted in vehicles, but obviously still dependent on electricity for re-charge.  So, with the Feds shutting-off our huge domestic coal, oil and gas reserves, while attempting heavy-handed regulation on current producers, in a nation 85% power-dependent on fossil fuels, and still, nuclear-challenged, seems we're expecting gerbils on a wheel to provide the electricity to power our cars, and more critically, to power the economic-growth of our nation.  More to follow…...
