SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Regina Thomas officially announced her candidacy Monday to become Savannah's next mayor.
Former State Sen. Regina Thomas is now running for mayor to replace Otis Johnson. Johnson's term is up at the end of the year. Because of term limits, he cannot run for re-election.
Thomas, a former eight-year city employee, says she wants to make city government work for all citizens, not just a privileged few.
The election is in November.
