SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Emancipation Association of Savannah presented $2,500 to six non-profit organizations on Tuesday. The presentation was held at the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, which also one of the recipients. The donation was made possible through community support.
"We support our museum because we want people to continue to learn and to be reinforced by progress that has been made to continue to advance in civil rights," said Emancipation Association Presiding Elder J.E. Taylor.
Other organizations that benefitted from the donation include the NAACP, the West Broad Street YMCA and the Special Children's Chior at Hodge Elementary School.
