Liberty Humane Shelter Update

The Liberty County Humane Shelter needs donations in order to be able to keep its doors open. Today the 165th Airlift Wing came to the rescue with a $1,400 check. They've been hosting various fundraisers, trying to do their part to keep the shelter open. They not only collected money, but also dog food, cat food, treats and toys.

The shelter is filled with mostly animals from soldiers deployed overseas, who usually make donations. Personnel with the 165th felt it was their duty to help out.
"[For] $2, we could come in and wear civvies, that was fabulous," said TSgt Connie Brown. "We raised about $400 that day."
"It's just fantastic that this much money was raised and given to us as a donation," said Beate Hall of the Liberty Humane Shelter.
