Tybee Island low on water

TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - Tybee officials held their first water fair on Saturday. Organizers set up more than 20 exhibits showing people not only how to conserve water but also how to lower their water bills by using items such as low flow toilets.

With a limited amount of water that can be pulled from the Floridian aquifer officials said Tybee residents need to be more cautious on how they use the precious commodity.

"What we hope folks realize is that water is a valuable asset for us all, but it is limited. We have a limited supply, and the more we use, the more it's going to cost us here on Tybee", saind Sandy Major the event organizer.

Children also learned ways to conserve water at home and at school.
