Military wives get treated to lunch

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - About 100 military wives enjoyed a delicious Sunday meal. They were shuttled from Fort Stewart to the Outback Steakhouse on Abercorn Street.

Not only did they get a good meal, the entire event was recorded by Lifetime Television. The luncheon was hosted by Operation Homefront, a group that helps military families in need.

"We will jump in and take care of any crisis a military family may have. If they need help with rent, mortgage, eyeglasses for their children, baby formula, diapers, we're there to help," said Kim Scofi of Operation Homefront Georgia.

The luncheon will be aired on lifetime television March 13, during an episode of "Army Wives".
