Georgia Bio Mass hoping to be world's largest

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A new business is coming to the area, Georgia Bio Mass. It's a green business and on Monday were talking about their plans in front of the Rotary Club of Savannah.

Georgia Bio Mass recently broke ground on a multi-million dollar plant in Waycross. They are headquatered in Savannah and are hoping to build the largest wood pellet mill in the world.

"It's a renewable energy and that's the beauty of it. Not only does it reduce CO2, we also grow it like a crop," said Managing Director Sam Kang. "Like a lot of Georgia residents know, trees are grown as crops here in the state and as such it's a renewable energy source. It's a great source of revenue and jobs for the state of Georgia as well."

From Waycross, the pellets will be shipped through the Port of Savannah to Europe.
