Mayor to help announce Honorary Counsel appointment
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson along with French and German officials will announce the newly appointed Honorary Counsel of France and Germany to Savannah.
The announcement takes place at 4 p.m. Thursday at City Hall.
The Honorary Counsel of France and Germany to Savannah will then join the Honorary Counsel of Brazil as the only official foreign representative based in the Hostess City.
The Honorary Counsel aims to help and protect the French and German communities that have ties to coastal Georgia, and to strengthen Franco-German cooperation in the areas of business and culture, according to the city of Savannah.
