Honorary Consul to be announced at 4 p.m.

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Mayor Otis Johnson is announcing a newly appointed Honorary Consul of France and Germany. They will be introduced to Savannah by French and German officials at 4p.m. on Thursday at City Hall.

The Honorary Consul will join the Honorary Consul of Brazil as an official foreign representative based in Savannah. Their responsibilities include protecting the French and German communities living or passing through the area.

The City of Savannah says it will also help to strengthen the Franco-German cooperation in the areas of business and culture.
