Attorney asks judge to toss out speed camera lawsuit

RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) - The Town of Ridgeland is fighting back against a lawsuit challenging the town's use of speed cameras.

The cameras have been in place on Interstate 95 since early 2010.

An attorney for Ridgeland, Timothy Domin tells WTOC, he is asking a federal judge to toss out a lawsuit challenging the town's use of cameras to catch speeders.

Two drivers from Florida and one from South Carolina sued in December saying the use of cameras to ticket speeders is unconstitutional and amounts to an illegal arrest.
