SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – One of the most amazing collections of African-American history is exhibiting in the Coastal Empire.
The Sankofa African American Museum on wheels includes exhibits on the Negro Baseball League the Tuskegee airmen and Martin Luther King Jr.
The term "Sankofa" is a Ghanaian word that means "use the wisdom of the past to build the future".
"You will start in Africa go through the middle passage, through slavery, and famous black Americans, we have lynching, cotton, we inventions by at least six-seven hundred African Americans," said Angela Jennings, owner.
Sankofa African American Museum will continue building the future next week when the exhibit goes to Atlanta.
