METTER, GA (WTOC) - Kindergarten students in Metter got the opportunity to learn about words and stories in a whole new way.
The students at Metter Elementary are taking part in a project call "Smart Start" where a visiting artist spends two weeks showing the young ones how to associate movements with vocabulary words. They also studied the pace and feeling that goes with the beginning, middle and end of stories.
"They're stomping. They're being generous. They're being kind. They're prowling. They're doing all these words," said artist in residence Nicole Livieratos.
The visit is made possible through a grant courtesy of the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta.
