Chase on I-95 leads police through two counties

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A chase that lead police through two counties Thursday all started when a Georgia State Trooper stopped Emerson Perry for speeding on I-95. As the trooper went to check the trunk, Emerson sped off.

Savannah Chatham Police also joined in on the high speed chase. Emerson ditched the car after taking the 204 exit in Richmond Hill and ran off, but was soon captured.

Police say they found several illegal weapons in the car and the 54 year old is a known convicted felon.

Emerson is being held in the Bryan County jail.
