COLUMBIA, SC (WTOC) - The jury reached a decision in a case involving a former Kershaw County Sheriff's Deputy beating a handcuffed inmate.
The former Kershaw County Sheriff's Deputy beat a handcuffed inmate with a metal baton as he brought the man into jail. The metal baton broke the prisoner's leg and left him bruised.
The deputy said the inmate was drunk and threatening him and his family. The jury disagreed and convicted the former deputy.
He could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fines at sentencing.
