SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Fort Pulaski National Monument will be partipating in Super Museum Sunday on Feb. 6. The event is a Georgia Historical Society Georgia Days tradition.
There will be no charge to visit museum's in Georgia on Sunday. For more information about Super Museum Sunday, visit www.georgiahistory.com.
In addtion to Super Museum Sunday, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in the first program of African American History programming. Every Sunday until Feb. 27, Fort Pulaski will offer a special event.
The theme for African American History Month in 2011 is "African Americans and the Civil War."
"There is a rich African American history in this area connected with the Civil War," commented Fort Pulaski Superintendent Randy Wester in a news release. "It is fitting that Fort Pulaski – an important Civil War site – commemorate the African American contributions in the Civil War."
