Weather service working to fix NOAA weather radio issues

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah NOAA Weather Radio Transmitter has been experiencing problems for the past few days, according to the Chatham Emergency Management Agency.

The National Weather Service in Charleston reports that it is possible the outage will continue into Wednesday during the time of the statewide tornado drill. The NWS is doing everything it can to resolve the problem as quickly as possible, according to CEMA.

CEMA recommends continuing to conduct planned tornado drills Wednesday, even if the NOAA Weather Radio in Savannah continues to experience transmission problems.

CEMA will activate the Outdoor Emergency Siren System at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
