GREENVILLE, SC (WTOC) - A 25 year old woman, who has a four year old child already, now faces charges of felony child abuse and unlawful neglect toward a newborn child after leaving the infant, not more than an hour old, in a toilet during a circus performance.
Police don't know what possessed the woman to leave the baby.
If convicted, she could face up to 50 years in prison. The baby is doing fine and in protective custody.
