Hispanics moving to the Low Country now have a new resource to help make the transition a little easier. The Latin American Council of South Carolina, which opened on Hilton Head Island this week. With advice on everything from health questions to hurricane evacuation plans, the Latin American Council is helping the fastest-growing segment of our population.
"Like in my case, 15 years ago, it was really difficult," said the council's Luis Bell. "It would be better for me if I had had an office where to go to ask questions in my own language and to be guided through the new system."
Now that their doors are open officially, organizers of the Latin American Council expect the office to get busier every day.
