SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are looking for a man they say attacked a woman with a hammer on Wednesday night.
Around 7 p.m., police responded to Vermont Avenue and found 42-year-old Shannon Anderson covered in blood and suffering from head trauma.
Anderson reported to police that her soon-to-be ex-boyfriend 44-year-old Robert Foster was waiting for her at their home when she returned from work. Earlier that day, Anderson said her and Foster decided that he would move out. Anderson allowed him inside and that's when she says the attacks started.
Police say Foster struck Anderson in head repeatedly. She told them she just laid there and played dead.
Foster fled the area in Anderson's burgandy Chrysler Voyager.
An arrest warrant was issued for Foster. He is being charged with aggravated assault.
