HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - Goodies were hand delivered to the soldiers at Fort Stewart on Sunday by dozens of folks from Glynn County.
The group collected more than 2500 homemade valentines, some made by area school children, as well as bags of candy.
The treats were passed out to wounded warriors at the Warriors Transition Battalion.
Event organizer, Joni Bennett says, "we want to make sure these soldiers and their families know they are not forgotten, that we love and appreciate them, that we respect the sacrifices that they've made, and that we understand that they are the reason we are free."
The Glynn County group hopes to do this type of event again for another holiday.
