SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Business is blooming at floral shops in the area. Valentine's Day is typically the busiest holiday for flower sellers. This year is no different. Many florists had to order more flowers this year to keep up with the high demand.
While there was a dip in business over the past couple of years, business is up at least 20 percent this year at Garden on the Square in Savannah. They even had to rent two vans in order to get the orders delivered just in time for Valentine's Day.
"We have actually had a very excellent Valentine's day, so far," said wwner of Garden on the Square Julie Driscoll. "Our sales are definitely up from last year. Last night, we are almost out of red roses, when we tried to order more in the evening time, our suppliers also ran out of red roses, so that is a good thing. It is an exciting thing."
Garden on the Square said they expect many last minute stragglers searching for their perfect gift on Valentine's Day.
