New 'blended' high school to open in Pooler in 2012
POOLER, GA (WTOC) - A new Chatham County high school is promising to be the best and most unique in the region.
At a meeting Tuesday night, school administrators said the new West Chatham Preparatory Academy will open in fall 2012.
The 800-student campus will be in Pooler near Godley Station and it will be designed like a college.
Classes will be partly online and the school will use a lot of new technology.
"It's much more than just an online school. We took the best of an online school and the best of a traditional school and put them together into what is called a blended school," said Marc Boese, of West Chatham Preparatory Academy.
The school will start taking applications in the fall and any high school student in Chatham County is encouraged to apply.
The plan as of now is to get funding from the state.
