Bulloch curbside recycling starts in Statesboro

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - Recycling is now a little easier in Statesboro. Bulloch County collected almost a 1,000 pounds of recycleable material during the first pick-up at 80 test home inside the city of Statesboro.

Customers can pay $20 per year for a container for "single source" collection where specific materials are picked up together and manually sorted at the transfer station. Organizers said this addition enhances what's already done at the 16 drop off sites county wide.

"This is an added convenience. Any recycling keeps it out of the landfill and from our standpoint that's fantastic," stated Kelly Collingsworth, director of Keep Bulloch Beautiful.

The containers will be collected on Thursdays initially. For more information, contact Keep Bulloch Beautiful at 912.764.6147 or Bulloch County recycling at 912.764.6369.
