Inspiring the next generation of health professionals

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Some of the most seasoned doctors from around the area came to Savannah State Wednesday evening to talk about the history of African Americans in the health profession.

They taught valuable lessons and hope to inspire the next generation of doctors.

"These students are going to be the ones who affect health disparities and as we know, many African American students, in terms of numbers, are under represented in medical schools," said Dr. Nkenge Jackson, OB/GYN.

There was also a familiar face present, WTOC's very own Ron Wallace served as the moderator for Wednesday night's discussion.
