SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Nightstalkers, back from a recent deployment, were honored for their actions in Afghanistan.
Eight soldiers with the Third Battalion - 160th Special Operation Aviations Regiment received medals at a ceremony at Hunter Army Airfield. In one of their missions, they helped rescue an injured soldier on the battlefield.
"It was on a hill and we decided to do a hoist. And the ground troops did a great job keeping the enemy back and we got support from the air," Chief Warrant Officer 4 Shannon Blitchington told WTOC.
One pilot received the distinguished Flying Cross.
