SPRINGFIELD, GA (WTOC) - Some Effingham County banks are getting new chance at business.
The Citizens Bank was shut down by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. on Friday but has now reopened under new ownership.
The bank has locations in Springfield, Guyton, Rincon and Port Wentworth in Chatham County.
The Albany based Heritage Bank of the South was actually paid $25 million by the FDIC to assume ownership, including all deposits of Citizens Bank.
Customers were able to resume services at Citizens Bank locations on Saturday after they reopened.
