SSU holds Southern Regional Press Institute conference

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - It's the 60th year Savannah State University has held the Southern Regional Press Institute.

It's a two day opportunity for high schoolers and college students to learn from professionals about mass communication. WTOC Dawn Baker had the opportunity to sit on the panel and talk about how the media has changed because of the economy and that interested students need to be flexible.

"It's a great expierience for networking. I'm a graduating senior and many of us are trying to find jobs. To just be in the presence of people who have come from where we have come from and have been the industry and know things about it. It's honor and priviledge to be here in their presence," said SSU student Charquitta Richardson.

WTOC News Director Jan Smith participated in one of the workshops and Mike Cihla attended earlier in the day.
