SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - There was nothing but hugs and kisses from family waiting for marines with the Combat Logistics Battalion 2 on Thursday afternoon at Hunter Army Airfield.
The group spent seven months in the deserts of Afghanistan, delivering supplies to infantry. All 49 marines made it back home to their families.
"Hey, it feels great to see some green around me. I spent so long out in the desert in the sand and all that. It just feels real good to be home," said Sgt. Patrick Conway.
"I'm excited to know that we actually did something. I feel accomplished for our unit, we definitely did a lot in different areas in Afghanistan and we all came together and pretty much accomplished the mission," said Lance Cpl. Carolyn Zeigler.
The marines are a reservist group, so now they will head back to their day jobs, which range from photographers to waitresses to some teachers.
