Water back on after main break

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The water is back on Monday morning in a Savannah neighborhood after a water main break.

Authorities say a car hit a fire hydrant at the intersection of Barnard and Anderson streets around 5 p.m. Sunday. The impact knocked the hydrant off, sending water pouring into the intersection. Officials were forced to close down the intersection as they worked to clean it up and cap the leaking water line.

Crews were also forced to shut off the water to houses in the area. They dug up the line and filled the hole to quickly get the water back on.
